Three strikes and you’re out – again.
Sebastian Baez defeated compatriot Camilo Ugo Carabelli for a third consecutive week, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1, and earned his 100th career ATP win in the process on Saturday in Santiago, Chile.
The 24-year-old World No.31 is now one win from becoming the first player to successfully defend the Santiago title. Baez, who is into his 10th ATP final, will face Laslo Djere on Sunday.
Djere defeated top-seeded Francisco Cerundolo 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.
Baez, now 77-37 lifetime on clay with six titles, won the Rio title last week, defeating France’s Alexandre Muller in the final.
He has won both previous meetings with Djere.
