As we’re all well aware, limited edition things, especially golf balls, are the rage in the world of golf equipment. And while, sure, there’s a case to make that most of it is just golf companies looking for ways to sneak a few more bucks out of your pocket, some of what gets produced in limited quantities is inarguably cool.
Make more of it. Or perhaps, make less of it more often.
Anyway, the latest example of fun in the golf ball category is the Min Woo Lee “Let Him Cook” Chrome Soft X that Callaway released earlier this week.
Callaway’s latest limited release features an iconized image of the chef himself along with a single red alignment line (can we call that unitrack alignment?)
It should be obvious enough that the design pays tribute to Min Woo’s chef persona, while, I guess, allowing each of us to cook on the course in our own special way.
To date, golf ball makers haven’t done much in the way of player-inspired designs. One could argue that the original TP5 PIX was somewhat Rickie inspired, and Bridgestone has done limited runs of “TIGER” balls, but Callaway’s Min Woo Lee ball is next-level inspiration (if you’re into that sort of thing).
With that, what other Tour player-inspired designs would you like to see? Please describe them in ChatGPT-level detail.
