Chelsea are interested in signing Liam Delap from Premier League rivals Ipswich Town in the summer transfer window, according to TBR. The report has claimed that the Blues had scouts present to watch Delap in action for Ipswich against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this past weekend.
Ipswich suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham at Portman Road. Delap did not score for the Tractor Boys. The former Manchester City prospect started the match for Ipswich and led the line in a 4-2-3-1 formation. The 22-year-old was taken off in the 79th minute.
Delap has been on the books of Ipswich since the summer of 2024 when he joined from Man City. The striker has scored 10 goals and given two assists in 27 matches in all competitions for the Tractor Boys so far this season. Ipswich are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with 17 points from 26 matches, five points behind 17th-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.
