The Seattle Seahawks offensive line room just got a little thinner.
Alright that’s a bit overstated, but John Schneider announced on Tuesday that Jason Peters will finally hang up his cleats after an incredible 20-year career.

Peters was picked up by the Seattle Seahawks twice in the twilight days of his career, who served as a backup, veteran presence, and presumably unofficial o-line coach during his 2024 practice squad tenure.
He ends with Seattle as the last of the five NFL teams for which he played, after earning an entire shelf of Pro Bowl nominations during his time with the Philadelphia Eagles.

This new move is in a different direction, however: assistant to Mo Kelly, the vice president of player affairs. Jason Peters is not stepping straight into coaching, but the front office. Kelly’s position most directly involves player care, both for current and former members of the Seahawks, including onboarding, development and transition for life during and after their NFL playing days.
Also said Jason Peters has been hired in a player engagement role. Is a full time position. Says he’ll work closely with offensive linemen.
