French Open 2025 Semi Final Recap

By Chris Oddo | @TheFanChild | Monday February 24, 2025

The last player to crack the Top-20 on the ATP Tour is angling to be the next into the Top-10. That would be British No.1 Jack Draper, who is up to No.12 in this week’s rankings for a new career-high.

Tennis Express

Draper, who moved into the Top-20 for the first time after reaching his maiden Grand Slam semifinal at the US Open, has only 40 points to defend at Indian Wells and Miami, so there’s a good chance he could make it by the end of March.

Draper, who lost the Doha final to Andrey Rublev, is 7-2 on the season. He reached the second week at the Australian Open before falling to Carlos Alcaraz when he was forced to retire after two sets.

Rio Provides Launching Pad

Rio produced a quartet of breakout performances – and a quartet of career-high rankings.

Runner-up Alexandre Muller rises 19 spots, making his Top-50 debut at a career-high No.41. He reached his first 500 final over the weekend, falling to Sebastian Baez in the final.

Camilo Ugo Carabelli jumped 22 spots to a career-high No.69 after reaching his maiden ATP semifinal as a lucky loser.

Francisco Comesana recorded his biggest career win when he took out second-seeded Alexander Zverev to reach his first ATP 500 quarterfinal. He jumps 19 spots to a career-high No.67.

Finally, Portugal’s Jaime Faria makes his Top 100 debut, jumping 20 spots to No.87 after reaching the quarterfinals at Rio.

Chinese Tapei’s Chun-Hsin Tseng is the biggest riser inside the ATP’s Top-100 this week. He is up 26 spots to No.99 after reaching the quarterfinals from qualifying. Belgium’s Raphael Collignon also makes a Top-100 debut, up 24 to No.98 after winning the Pau, France Challenger.
