Swiatek’s Wimbledon Triumph, By the Numbers

Brian Campbell stunned the golf public by winning his first title on the US PGA Tour at the Mexico Open. In a fierce battle with Aldrich Potgieter, Campbell managed to celebrate, visibly happy with such a victory. The 31-year-old man managed to remain calm and focused in the key moments of the match, and achieved such an important victory.

In an interview with the media, he pointed out that the first word that comes to mind is grit.

“Grit, that’s the only word I can think of right now,” said Campbell, as quoted by IOL.

“I’m literally freaking out on the inside. I have no idea what’s going on right now.”

The American golfer has played many tournaments, but he has not been quite successful when it comes to winning this tournaments. The situation was complicated when his tee shot at the second playoff hole went toward the out-of-bounds woods. However, it hit a tree and gained momentum in the game, bouncing off the cart path and into the right grass.

Campbell was also surprised by such a moment, but he was delighted that he managed to return to a great chance.

“Oh my gosh, that bounce? But we got ourselves back in position and gave ourselves a chance and it paid off,” said Campbell.

Potgieter  reacts

Potgieter was clearly under immense pressure, which is no surprise considering he is still a 20-year-old with big things to do yet. He admitted that he must learn how to adapt to such situations in the future.

“Pressure is a big thing,” Potgieter said.

“You can’t really beat it, you just have to learn and adjust to the next time you’re in this position again.”

Despite everything, Potgieter has reason to be happy, considering that he competed against much more experienced older colleagues, and was even one step away from victory.

“I’m really happy with how I played this week,” Potgieter concluded.
