36-year-old Kevin Durant had a candid moment about the finite time he has left in the league.

“I think about it all the time,” Durant said, via ESPN’s Malika Andrews. “I mean, we’re in a young man’s game. I hear about my age every day. But I’m still having fun preparing for games, preparing for practices, being a teammate, I still enjoy all that stuff. I don’t see an end right now, but it could happen, it could not. But I’m just locked in on the next day.”

As for whether the trade rumors that surrounded Durant ahead of the NBA trade deadline would impact his future in with the Suns, he confirmed that Phoenix is where he wants to be and never requested out.

“You gotta ask the front office about that. I mean, I never planned on leaving, moving, or getting traded,” KD said. “I didn’t ask for a trade from Phoenix.”

Durant remains a key figure for the Suns and although his future is uncertain, he is all locked in with the Suns for now.

“I know that I’m gonna keep bringing, trying to bring my best every single day, and I let the higher-ups focus on what’s, what’s next,” Durant said.

In the final days of the trade deadline, 20 percent of the league tried to trade for Kevin Durant.

These teams included Dallas, Golden State, Miami, Houston, Memphis and Minnesota. The teams still willing to trade for KD are the Heat, Mavericks and Rockets, who are expected to make one final push to acquire Durant this summer in a trade package, Brian Windhorst reported last week.

Even though he is one of the oldest players in the league, it’s clear KD is still in high demand across the NBA.
