Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel has criticised Manchester United loanee Jadon Sancho, accusing the loanee of deceiving them with a couple of good performances.

Sancho left United on deadline day of the summer transfer window and signed for Chelsea on an initial loan deal, which will become permanent provided the Blues don’t finish in the bottom six.

As it stands, Chelsea lie in sixth position and seem well-placed to complete the campaign in the top half of the Premier League standings. United stand to net £25million from parting ways with Sancho.

The England international failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford and was frozen out of the team towards the end of his tenure at the club following a bitter public spat with Erik ten Hag.

Sancho got off to a good start at Chelsea, providing four assists in his first three league matches. However, over the past few weeks, his slump in form has coincided with the London club’s poor performances and results.

Chelsea suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion on Friday and Sancho endured another underwhelming outing on the left side of the attack.

The 24-year-old is back under pressure and now. Obi Mikel has weighed in on the situation.

Speaking on the Obi One podcast, Obi Mikel insisted that Sancho has reverted back to the disappointing displays people became accustomed to when he was at United.

“Jadon Sancho, he came here and he’s deceived us with a few good games.”

“We thought, ‘Oh f*****g hell, now we’re getting the Jadon Sancho from (Borussia) Dortmund. He’s gone again. He’s gone. I don’t know what’s happened to Jadon. He’s disappeared off the grid.”

“He takes the ball, he doesn’t go past players anymore, he doesn’t create chances anymore. He doesn’t help the team as much as he should be.”

Meanwhile, United are back in action on Saturday when they face David Moyes’ Everton at Goodison Park.
