Seahawks star Leonard Williams gets snubbed one more time in NFL’s top 50 list

Leonard Williams had a tremendous first full season with the Seattle Seahawks. After a productive half-season in Seattle following his mid-season move from the New York Giants, ‘Big Cat’ was one of the NFL’s best interior defensive linemen in 2024.

If only he was recognized accordingly.

Despite posting 11 sacks, 28 quarterback hits, and 16 tackles for loss (the most of any interior DL), Williams wasn’t selected to an All-Pro team or even the initial Pro Bowl roster.

And now we have one more snub to add to the list.

The NFL posted its top 50 defensive plays of the entire season (playoffs included). Rayshawn Jenkins’ fumble return touchdown against the Giants and Derick Hall’s scoop and score against the Atlanta Falcons were included, which is great to see. You know what didn’t make it?

This play.

It’s only the longest pick-six by a big fella in the history of the NFL and it turned a potential embarrassing blowout Seahawks loss into a comeback win over the New York Jets. No big deal to omit that.

It was noticed in the comments section!

The disrespect has been noted! Somehow I feel that if Williams did that in a Jets or Giants uniform that would’ve skyrocketed to the top of the list.

Oh well. Let him keep wreaking havoc on opposing offenses whether the league recognizes his greatness or not.
