Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate in the summer, writes Julien Laurens for the ESPN. They see him as an ideal candidate to slot into their back line next to Marquinhos, and as a potential part of their long-term plans when the Brazilian veteran leaves. What’s more, Konate is tempted by the prospect of returning to the city of his birth, with his current contract with the Premier League leaders set to expire in 2026.
Speaking to the press recently, Konate confirmed he’s been offered a new deal to remain at Anfield beyond that, but he understandably wouldn’t make any comment on whether he intends to sign it.
For their part, Liverpool are obviously reluctant to part ways with the centre-back who has firmly established himself as a regular partner to Virgil van Dijk in the heart of defence, and it remains to be seen if they’ll be able to persuade him to stay put.
