Henco van Wyk is set to star in the Lions midfield for at least another two years after signing a contract extension.
The 23-year-old former Junior Bok has made 41 appearances for the Pride in all competitions since making his debut in 2021, scoring 15 tries.
A series of knee injuries have delayed his Springbok dream, but it could come true this July when Italy and Georgia visit South Africa.
Van Wyk’s contract extension until 2027 follows those of tighthead prop Asenathi Ntlabakanye (until 2027) and No 8 Francke Horn (until 2028) as the Lions look to hold on to the players who have put them in Vodacom URC playoffs contention this season.
