Diamondbacks Sign Trevor Richards To Minor League Deal

The Los Angeles Dodgers have had a great offseason but they won’t be able to retain everyone from the 2024 title team. Right-handed pitcher Jack Flaherty has agreed to sign with the Detroit Tigers on a two-year deal that is worth $35 million.

ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan announced the deal on social media.

Flaherty goes back to the team that the Dodgers traded for him from in a full circle moment. The right-hander was instrumental in helping Los Angeles win the World Series this past season and had wanted to stay with the team.

The veteran pitcher started Game 1 for the team in the NLCS and World Series, helping Los Angeles take control of each series. His second start in each series were ones that he surely would like to forget but the Dodgers simply don’t win the World Series without the services of Flaherty.

Flaherty will be missed by the Dodgers but his time was well spent. The right-hander posted an ERA of 3.58 over 10 starts with Los Angeles after coming over from the Tigers at the trade deadline.
