Bill Belichick is a college football head coach now, and what he ends up doing at North Carolina is anybody’s guess.
We all know how Belichick made his name, though, and that was because of the multitude of Super Bowls he won as head coach of the New England Patriots.
That’s why there’s a good chance he will succeed at UNC. Not only is he an excellent coach, but his “brand” will ultimately bring in good players.
Speaking of branding, Belichick was recently discussing the dynasty he built in New England on the “Let’s Go!” podcast. He mentioned that in reality, the credit is due to all the great players he had for all those years with the Patriots.
After all, he was the one calling the plays, but they were doing it.
Co-host Jim Gray went on to mention that the NFL’s Super Bowl trophy, the Lombardi Trophy, is named after legendary Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi, and not his legendary quarterback, Bart Starr.
That’s what made Belichick ultimately think of his legendary quarterback, Tom Brady.
“Maybe they should name it the Brady Trophy. He won seven of them,” Belichick said.
