The Seattle Seahawks have a new offensive coordinator in Klint Kubiak, but that doesn’t mean they’re done making changes to the coaching staff.

ESPN’s New Orleans Saints correspondent Katherine Terrell reported on Wednesday that Seattle has received permission to interview Saints quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko, who would evidently be taking a lateral job if hired.

The Seahawks requested and were granted permission to interview Saints quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko.

The Saints would like to keep Janocko but as they close in on a head coach, they have been letting more coaches interview and leave for lateral positions. Some position coaches were waiting to see if Darren Rizzi would get the permanent job.

Seattle’s current quarterbacks coach is Charles London, which at the very least could be an indicator that his job is in jeopardy.

Janocko has fairly extensive Kubiak ties in his 12 seasons in the NFL. Obviously he was on the same coaching staff as Kubiak this past season in New Orleans, but they were on the Minnesota Vikings staff concurrently from 2019 to 2021. Janocko has worn many hats as an NFL assistant, including offensive quality control coach, assistant offensive line coach, wide receivers coach, and QBs coach in Minnesota, Chicago, and New Orleans.

If hired as QBs coach, Janocko would be the fifth different person to hold that title in as many seasons. Austin Davis left at the end of the 2021 season after two seasons on the job, Dave Canales became the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator after the 2022 season, and Greg Olson was not retained following Pete Carroll’s departure at the end of 2023.
