Finalists for The Associated Press’ 2024 NFL awards were announced on Thursday, which include a pair of Los Angeles Rams in Braden Fiske and Jared Verse.

Fiske and Verse are among the five finalists for AP Defensive Rookie of the Year. They are joined by the Philadelphia Eagles’ Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell, and Chop Robinson of the Miami Dolphins.

The Rams selected Verse and Fiske out of Florida State in the first and second rounds, respectively, of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Fiske totaled 8.5 sacks, 44 tackles, 10 quarterback hits and two forced fumbles in 17 games this season (eight starts).

Verse led all rookies in quarterback hits (18), pressures (77) and hurries (56). He also had the second-most tackles for loss (11) and fifth-most sacks (4.5).

Verse was additionally tied for second in hurries and ranked fourth among all defensive players. Overall, Verse finished the 2024 season with 4.5 sacks, 66 total tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two passes defensed while starting 16 games.

Verse was previously named the 2024 PFWA Rookie of the Year and selected to the All-Rookie team, alongside Rams teammates Fiske and Jordan Whittington. Verse will also represent L.A. at the 2025 Pro Bowl Games.

The winners of The Associated Press’ 2024 NFL awards, along with the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year and Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025, will be announced at the 14th annual NFL Honors ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Hosted by Snoop Dogg, the show will air live at 6 p.m. PT on FOX and NFL Network, as well as stream on NFL+.
