Chelsea supervisor Enzo Maresca defended goalkeeper Robert Sanchez after his newest error gifted Wolves a purpose within the Blues’ 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge on Monday night time.

Sanchez dropped a nook on the toes of Matt Doherty who poked in an equaliser after Tosin had put Chelsea forward.

The previous Brighton goalkeeper has now made 4 errors resulting in targets within the Premier League this season, solely Ipswich City’s Arijanet Muric (5) has made extra within the competitors.

Maresca mentioned: “You mentioned it was the fourth mistake [leading to a goal]? OK and what number of instances did he save us? Greater than 4. So no drawback.

“It occurs. Errors occur to him, the strikers, the midfielders. He’s doing effectively.”

Chelsea signed Filip Jorgensen final summer time and have Kepa and Dorde Petrovic out on mortgage with Bournemouth and Strasbourg respectively.

Chelsea had not gained within the Premier League since mid December however wrapped up the win due to second-half targets from Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke.

Maresca was happy with how his aspect responded to Sanchez’s error to finish a five-game winless run.

“The primary 40 minutes we had been prime,” he mentioned. “The efficiency was glorious and we dominated the sport. We scored and created many extra probabilities.

“Then within the final 5 minutes of the half what has been taking place within the final 5 video games occurred once more.

“Wolves had just a little little bit of confidence and received their purpose after which we began to struggled just a little bit. Second half we began fairly effectively after which after the second and third targets we had been in management.”
