Carlos Alcaraz’s Wimbledon title protection was a rankings winner for ESPN.

The third-seeded Alcaraz wanted solely 2 hrs 27 minutes to defeat Novak Djokovic in comparison with the five-set, 4 hour, 42-minute closing they staged within the 2023 closing.

But Sunday’s shorter closing averaged 2.2 million viewers for ESPN.

For your entire match, 2024 Wimbledon protection throughout ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 averaged 677,000 viewers total, up 5% from 2022, up 32% from 2021, and down 2% 12 months over 12 months due partially to a shorter size of the match in comparison with the five-set closing in 2023 and four-set closing in 2022.
