1880—Lon Myers, a Nationwide Corridor of Fame constitution member, set an American Report of 4:29.5 for the mile in New York.
1902–Georgetown’s Arthur Duffey ran 9-3/5s on the IC4A Championships at NY’s Berkeley Oval to ostensibly set a World Report within the 100-yard sprint. Duffey had shared the earlier mark of 9-4/5s with many others. Nonetheless, based mostly on a 1904(1905?) article that claimed that Duffey (and others) had obtained expense cash that exceeded the allowable restrict, the AAU branded him as an expert and retroactively wiped the mark (in addition to all of Duffey’s different marks) from its report books (The IC4A adopted go well with).
