SHENZHEN, China — Adrian Otaegui overturned a five-shot deficit to win the China Open on Sunday, the Spanish golfer’s fifth tour title.

Otaegui had been trailing Sebastian Söderberg after Friday’s spherical — Saturday’s was cancelled due to thunder and lightning — and he shot 7-under 65 in his closing spherical to win by one shot from Guido Migliozzi, who completed runner up with a 67.

Söderberg completed in a tie for third after beginning Sunday with a bogey. The Swedish participant holed 4 birdies however was undone by one other bogey on the fifteenth gap and a double-bogey for par within the closing spherical.

Söderberg completed alongside Englishman Paul Waring and Switzerland’s Joel Girrbach at 16 beneath.

The China Open was again on the European tour schedule after an absence of 5 years.
