Beneil Dariush introduced as 2024 Forrest Griffin Group Award recipient

Beneil Dariush is the 2024 Forrest Griffin Group Award winner.

Given out yearly as a part of the Worldwide Battle Week honors, the Forrest Griffin Group Award is personally chosen by UFC CEO Dana White and acknowledges fighters for his or her charitable efforts. On Saturday, UFC introduced Dariush because the 2024 recipient for his work with the Shlama Basis and Promise Little one Ministries.

“Beneil does an unbelievable job giving again to his group,” White stated in a press launch. “Beneil units an ideal instance of how athletes ought to use their platforms to lift consciousness for the charitable causes they care about essentially the most whereas serving to those that are much less lucky. It’s an honor to current him with this award.”

Per its web site, the Shlama Basis is a non-government group that funds “humanitarian support and group tasks that may promote the survival and prosperity of the Assyrian Chaldean Syriac folks of their ancestral homeland.” An Assyrian American, Dariush started working with the group in 2018 to lift funds and consciousness about its mission. Additionally a religious Christian, Dariush began working with Promise Little one Ministries in 2019, utilizing Efficiency Bonus checks to fund orphanages in Haiti.

Dariush reacted to the announcement in his conventional humble vogue.

“Thanks UFC [and] Dana White. I’m humbled and honored to obtain this. Reward the lord!”

Began in 2020, Dariush is the fifth winner of the Forrest Griffin Group Award, following within the footsteps of Dustin Poirier, Max Holloway, Giga Chikadze, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and his brother Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. He can be honored through the Corridor of Fame induction ceremony on June 27 in Las Vegas, and receives a $25,000 donation to the charity of his selection.
