Lions centre Henco van Wyk should wait to make his Springbok debut as his season has come to a untimely finish as a consequence of a knee harm.
Van Wyk suffered the harm after coming off the bench for the Lions within the bonus-point victory over Leinster at Ellis Park on Saturday.
The 22-year-old was making his return from a knee harm suffered in opposition to the Sharks within the first weekend of March, which saved him out of motion for six weeks.
Van Wyk has undergone an operation and is anticipated to be sidelined for 5 months, ending his participation within the present Vodacom URC marketing campaign.
The harm may also mar any hopes Van Wyk had of getting a Springbok call-up this 12 months, after being a part of the primary alignment camp in Cape City.
That is the third knee harm that the previous Junior Springbok star has suffered, the primary coming in January 2023 throughout his breakthrough season for the Lions
