PSG never did this with golden trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe — Now Luis Enrique wants it all

Paris Saint-Germain has long been chasing continental greatness, but under Luis Enrique, it might finally be on the brink of something no other club in history has achieved. Seven titles. One calendar year. Total dominance.

The idea itself seems far-fetched, especially for a team that once leaned heavily on individual stars—Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe—without reaching the collective heights expected of them. But this new PSG side is disciplined, dynamic, and dangerously close to doing what those Galactico-laden squads never could.

PSG’s path to this historic seven-title sweep began modestly but methodically. It started with the Trophee des Champions, a 1-0 victory over Monaco that set the tone. Then came a dominant run in Ligue 1, where they clinched the title with six matches to spare, displaying consistency and control.

Their 3-0 Coupe de France triumph over Reims added another piece to the puzzle. And perhaps the biggest statement of intent came when PSG crushed Inter 5-0 in the UEFA Champions League final, delivering a performance that echoed across Europe.

So far, four trophies have already been secured. Now, only three matches stand between PSG and eternal greatness.

Defining test and two more after Chelsea

Next on the agenda is the FIFA Club World Cup final, where PSG face Chelsea this Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. A win would bring the fifth title into the cabinet.

Should Red-and-Blues overcome Chelsea, they’ll turn their attention to the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham, this year’s Europa League winners. It’s another challenge, but one they’ll enter as favorites given their current form and squad depth.

The final piece of the puzzle is the Intercontinental Cup, a recently reintroduced competition pitting Europe’s best against their South American counterpart. PSG’s opponent has yet to be confirmed, but the title would complete an unprecedented clean sweep.

More than trophies: Making of a new era

Should they go on to claim all seven trophies, PSG will not just etch their name in the record books—they will redefine what it means to be a dominant club in the modern era. It would be a feat unmatched by even the greatest club sides—Barcelona’s 2009 sextuple, Bayern Munich’s 2020 clean sweep, and even Real Madrid’s five-title seasons.

Because this wouldn’t be just another trophy haul. It would be the culmination of a system, a vision, and a season where everything clicked. And for once, it wouldn’t be about Messi, Neymar, or Mbappe. It would be about PSG. The team.
