Giannis Antetokounmpo is giving Milwaukee fans hope for the future, but he’s also hearing plenty from New York.

The 30-year-old Bucks superstar addressed speculation about his next move as questions swirl around his long-term commitment, during a recent livestream with iShowSpeed.

“Probably. We’ll see. I love Milwaukee.”

“LA, the tax is bad. New York, the tax is bad,” streamer Darren Watkins Jr. said, referencing rumors linking Antetokounmpo to the Lakers and Knicks.

Antetokounmpo replied, “A lot of people are trying to convince me to play there.”

When asked on whether he plans to stay with the Bucks, he added, “Probably. We’ll see, probably. I love Milwaukee.”

The two-time MVP is under contract for three more seasons on a $186 million deal signed in 2023. That agreement was meant to align with Damian Lillard’s tenure before the Bucks abruptly waived the injured point guard this offseason.

Antetokounmpo remains one of the league’s most dominant forces, averaging 30.4 points and 11.9 rebounds per game last season as Milwaukee finished fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 48-34 record.

Rumors about his future intensified after the Bucks suffered their third straight first-round playoff exit, this time falling to the Indiana Pacers.

Ian Begley of SNY noted earlier this year that “it would be foolish to count the Knicks out” in a potential blockbuster move.

The Knicks remain interested, though questions around their roster and front office moves add uncertainty.
