Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) continues to trim its expansive roster of mixed martial arts (MMA) talent.
Today (Weds., July 9, 2025), reporter Al Zullino revealed that four fighters have been removed from UFC active’s roster, meaning they have been released from their respective contracts and/or the promotion decided not to extend them.
Trevin Giles, Viviane Araujo, Jordan Vucenic, and Ange Loosa are the four fighters who lost their spots on UFC’s active roster this time around.

Of the four, Giles (16-7) competed the most inside the octagon with 14 bouts. “The Problem” was supposed to compete at UFC Vegas 107 on short notice against Andreas Gustafsson, but during the early morning weigh-ins, he fell and hit his head, causing the fight to be canceled.
Giles departs the promotion with a 7-7 record and on a three-fight losing streak, most recently losing to Mike Malott.

Araujo (13-7) entered the UFC in 2019 with a lot of hype, and she lived up to it in her debut by brutally knocking out Talita Bernardo at UFC 237 (watch highlights). However, that would be her only finish in the promotion, and her UFC career turned out to be inconsistent.
“Vivi” earned wins over Roxanne Modafferi, Alexis Davis, Andrea Lee, and Jennifer Maia, securing a spot in the top 15 for several years. Her most recent victory came against Karine Silva, who was undefeated in the promotion at the time.
In her last appearance, Araujo lost a unanimous decision to Tracy Cortez at UFC 317.
She leaves the UFC with a promotional record of 7–6.

Vucenic (13-4) worked his butt off to finally get the call to fight inside UFC but unfortunately the results did not go well.
“The Epidemic” had a super competitive fight against Guram Kutateladze in his UFC debut, which was on short notice, but then got submitted in the second round against Chris Duncan as a heavy betting favorite (-305).
At 29 years old, there is still time for him to make it back to the promotion, but until then, he exits UFC with a 0-2 record.

Loosa (10-5) scored two wins in his time with UFC, defeating AJ Fletcher and Rhys McKee, but suffered three losses, most recently against Phil Rowe – in a fight where he was winning until … he got knocked out (watch highlights).
For what it’s worth, he had one of the best fights in Contender Series history against Jack Della Maddalena back in 2021.
“The Last Ninja” exits UFC with a 2-3-1 record.
