Manchester United are advancing their efforts to sign a proven goal scorer this transfer window, with one elite striker ready to allow his current club to terminate his contract in order to facilitate the move.

It’s been a frustrating summer for Man United fans so far, with the club falling behind in the race for Victor Osimhen.

Viktor Gyokeres is another name that has been constantly linked with United; however, he appears to be nearing a move to Arsenal.

Still, United fans need not panic, as one proven goal poacher appears willing to move to Old Trafford to bring an end to the club’s poor attacking performances.

Rumours start to swirl

Last month, The Peoples Person relayed that Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic has reportedly taken an interest in joining United.

What’s more, he is believed to be available for a reasonable price of £20 million.

Given his desire to play for United and his price tag, it appears that Vlahovic could be an ideal transfer target this summer.

Now, it seems as if the Serbian striker is closer than ever to signing on the dotted line for United.

Making his move

Last week, Vlahovic caused a social media stir when he liked a post from Jude Bellingham, who was part of the Real Madrid side that defeated Juventus at the FIFA Club World Cup.

While many took this as a sign of his dissatisfaction in Turin, the player’s agent all but confirmed this when he allegedly met with Juventus to negotiate Vlahovic’s exit from the club.

Another update seems to have confirmed that Vlahovic is closer than ever to sealing an Old Trafford move.

Contract termination

GIVEMESPORT reported this morning that Vlahovic is “to test himself in the Premier League and remains hopeful Man United will pounce amid his availability on the market.”

“The Serbian striker is believed to be seeking a contract worth £200,000 per week at his new club and prefers a move to England despite long-standing admirers from sides in Turkey,” the article continued. What’s notable about this is that the striker earns £315,000 per week at Juventus, meaning he will even take a massive pay cut to convince United to sign him.

Perhaps the most important part of this update is that Juventus themselves seem to have made peace with the player’s decision.

“Juventus are open to the idea of terminating Dusan Vlahovic’s contract amid recent links with Manchester United, Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed. The Serie A club will reportedly propose the idea of terminating Vlahovic’s deal to his agents as they look to offload his eye-watering salary from their books,” the article confirmed.

Should Juventus truly be open to selling Vlahovic, with the player himself willing to take a substantial pay cut, United should be all but ready to pull the trigger and finally sign the clinical finisher that they so desperately need.
