Fiji fly-half Caleb Muntz’s anticipated move to Provence in France’s Pro D2 has finally been confirmed.

The 25-year-old brought his Fijian Drua career to a close at the end of the Super Rugby Pacific season, where he has spent the entirety of his career to date.

He will link up with his new team in October after the Pacific Nations Cup, which is due to end in September. He will become the second Fijian in the squad, joining Eto Bainivalu.

Muntz is fresh from representing his country, where he wore the No.10 shirt, kicking eight points, in Fiji’s narrow defeat to Australia on Sunday.

Provence sporting director Philippe Saint-André said: “Caleb is a Fijian fly-half trained in New Zealand, very talented.

“Fiji have been waiting a long time for a number 10 of this level, and he has often been excellent with the national team. He unfortunately missed the 2023 World Cup due to injury, but he has fully recovered and is once again the playmaker of this team.

“He currently plays for the Fijian Drua, in a very demanding rugby league. He can also play 12, which gives us options. He will arrive on October 1, and his profile will perfectly compensate for the injury of Jules Plisson.”
