Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres wants to join Arsenal in the summer transfer window and is ready to go on strike, according to The Sun. The report in the British tabloid has claimed that Sporting are worried that Gyokeres will not turn out for pre-season training on Monday.
Manchester United and Juventus are also interested in Gyokeres, but the Sweden international striker favours a move to Arsenal, who finished second in the Premier League table last season and will feature in the UEFA Champions League in the 2025-26 campaign.
Sporting are willing to sell Gyokeres, but the Portuguese giants want at least £68.5 million. The striker reportedly believes that Sporting are breaking ‘a gentleman’s agreement that he could leave for £60 million’. Gyokeres scored 54 goals in 52 appearances in the 2024-25 season has turned down offers from the Saudi Pro League already this summer.
