As rumors of Conor McGregor’s return begin heating up, a bounty has been set on his head that many are attempting to collect.
Throughout the years at the top of his game, ‘The Notorious’ wasn’t one to make friends and enjoyed the thought of having a target on his back. The Irishman had many of his peers wanting to fast-track his downfall, and one man in particular remains keen on making sure that happens years following their feud.
Former IBF Junior Welterweight and WBA Welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi has reignited his nine-year-long rivalry with Conor McGregor by proposing a high-risk fight between the two.
As he begins putting in the work for his September bare-knuckle boxing bout, Malignaggi aired his thoughts on McGregor.
“Conor is a very insecure person,” Malignaggi said. “He sold our sparring session in the complete wrong way, and he is always trying to one-up me.”
“Anything I do, he is always involved, it is always me responding, and it is never me initiating. You know he won’t do [the fight]. He doesn’t have the balls to do it. He won’t do it in his own promotion in BKB.”
Paulie Malignaggi later made an offer to Conor McGregor.
“I think with Conor, I’d only do it winner-takes-all. It would generate so much money, so the winner would take the whole pot, whatever that is.”
“I would only do it that way, it’s the punishment he deserves.” [h/t talkSPORT]
