Former super lightweight title contender, Jack Catterall, faced Harlem Eubank, for his IBF Inter-Continental welterweight champion, earlier today (Sat., July 5, 2025) in Manchester, England, and it was a wild outcome to say the least.

In the seventh round of their 12-round title fight, the two men had a brutal clash of heads, which forced a stoppage in the fight after Catterall suffered an unfortunate massive cut above his right eye.

Take a look at the clash of heads in the video embedded above which resulted in both men getting cut, though Catterall took most of the damage.

While most expected the fight to be ruled a no contest (NC) as a result of the referee’s decision to stop the fight, it went to the judges’ scorecards instead, which resulted in Catterall winning on the judges scorecards for all completed rounds and becoming the new WBA international & IBF intercontinental welterweight champion.

Check out Eubanks’ reaction to the decision below:

It was a truly wild scene toward the end, but the fight itself for as long as it lasted wasn’t all that exciting, so do no expect a rematch between these two despite the controversial outcome.

Or is it necessary?
