“These are very troublesome moments for me, sporting clever. Sadly, I’ve to let you know that I’m not going to be taking part in in Monte Carlo,” Nadal posted on social media.

“My physique merely gained’t enable me. And even when I’m working arduous and making the utmost effort on daily basis with all the desire to play and compete once more at tournaments which have been essential for me, the reality is that I can’t play as we speak. You don’t have any concept how arduous that is for me to not be capable of play these occasions.”

It’s an ominous assertion from the 14-time Grand Slam champion, who was additionally compelled out of Indian Wells final month.

Nadal had hoped to play Monte-Carlo in preparation for a clay-court season culminating with Roland Garros, set for Could 26-June ninth.
