NIKE Pre Classic, now in its fiftieth year, the Pre Classic gives fans in the U.S. their only chance to see global athletes in a Diamond League setting. This writer has covered the event since the late 1980s, and visited since 1990.Honoring Steve Prefontaine, AR holder in 2000m to 10,000m at time of his death (May 30, 1975).
