We, Miami Dolphins fans, have known for some time that Jalen Ramsey would eventually be traded. There was also a strong belief that Jonnu Smith was likely to be shipped out sooner rather than later. I have seen both takes on this trade online. Some believe that the Dolphins were taken advantage of by the Pittsburgh Steelers, who acquired two Pro Bowlers for one. Others believe that the Dolphins made a sound deal given the circumstances. If neither were on the block and Miami was not actively shopping Ramsey and Smith, they might have brought back a slightly better return for the two, especially if they had been traded separately. However, I feel that Miami did as well as they could given the current situation.

Miami, if nothing else, filled a hole that was created when Miami allowed Jevon Holland to walk in free agency. That being the upside, the downside is that now the roster has two new holes to fill. The rumor is that the team is actively looking at trading for a tight end to replace Smith. I have to assume that they are also actively shopping for corners, as the one hole they had there has now become two holes. But what do you think about this trade?

So this evening’s Phinsider Question Of The Day is:

What do you think about the Dolphins/Steelers trade? Do you believe the Dolphins received fair value given the circumstances, or do you think the Steelers took advantage of the Dolphins? Do you see this as a negative, considering what was given up, or a positive, knowing that everyone understood the team had to trade Ramsey and might have been approaching that point with Smith as well?

Please give us your thoughts and answers in the comments section below-
