Aston Villa have reportedly had some talks with Galatasaray over a few different players that could move between the two clubs.

Galatasaray have supposedly been in touch with Villa about both Emiliano Martinez and Lucas Digne.

And it seems Villa have used this opportunity to ask about a potential transfer move for Galatasaray’s Brazilian central midfielder Gabriel Sara, according to Foot Mercato.

The 25-year-old has impressed during his time in Turkey, having previously also caught the eye during a spell in England with Norwich City.

Foot Mercato states that these would be separate deals, so Sara’s arrival wouldn’t necessarily hinge on one of Martinez or Digne heading to Galatasaray.

Aston Villa could land bargain midfield talent

CaughtOffside were also previously informed of Villa’s interest in Sara, with other Premier League clubs also mentioned as suitors by our sources.

Sara is said to be valued at around €20m, which could end up being an absolute bargain for AVFC as they look to keep in line with Financial Fair Play regulations.

We’ve seen Villa having to make a few sales in recent times, and that may be the case again this summer.

So if someone like Sara is available on the cheap, that could also be ideal to help Unai Emery put together a strong squad without risking any action from the Premier League.

Teams like Everton and Nottingham Forest have been given points deductions in recent times, and Villa will hope to avoid that kind of punishment as they push to establish themselves as serious top four contenders.
