Porto entered their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Matchday 3 clash against Al Ahly needing a result to keep their hopes of reaching the round of 16 alive. With a thrilling game underway, fans are left wondering what each possible outcome — a win, draw, or loss — would mean for the Portuguese side.

What if Porto win vs. Al Ahly?

If Porto win their game against Al Ahly, they’ll climb to four points in the group stage. However, victory alone wouldn’t guarantee their qualification to the next round. Porto’s advancement would still depend on the result of the match between Inter Miami and Palmeiras.

Should Inter Miami lose to Palmeiras, Porto would still be eliminated. In that scenario, FIFA Club World Cup tiebreakers prioritize head-to-head results between tied teams, giving Inter Miami the edge over Porto.

If Inter Miami and Palmeiras draw, both would finish with five points, leaving Porto behind. However, if Inter Miami win, Porto’s chances remain alive. With Miami earning five points and Porto finishing tied with Palmeiras at four, goal differential would become the deciding factor. Porto would need a better goal differential than Palmeiras to advance.

What if Porto draw vs. Al Ahly?

If Porto draw against Al Ahly, both teams would finish the group stage with two points, eliminating them both from the tournament. In this scenario, neither side benefits from a draw, making it a must-win situation for both.

What if Porto lose vs. Al Ahly?

If Porto lose to Al Ahly, their Club World Cup campaign would come to an end. Al Ahly, on the other hand, would reach four points in Group A. Depending on the goal differential and if Inter Miami beat Palmeiras, the Egyptian side could still have a path to the next round.
