Who will replace Kylian Mbappe for Real Madrid vs. Pachuca in FIFA Club World Cup 2025 clash?

As Marcus Rashford enjoys some downtime in Marbella, his words off the pitch have sparked as much attention as his moves on it. In an informal interview with the Buyer brothers on YouTube, the Manchester United forward made a 10-word remark that has reignited speculation about a potential summer transfer to Barcelona. And it’s not just the fans who are listening—his comments might have also caught the ears of those at Camp Nou.

Rashford, currently training individually in Spain following the end of a loan spell at Aston Villa, has been widely linked with a potential move to the Catalans. Though Barça’s top attacking target remains Spain’s Nico Williams, Rashford’s recent statements suggest he is more than ready to don the Blaugrana shirt—especially if it means teaming up with one of La Liga’s brightest young stars.

The 27-year-old was asked about the possibility of sharing the pitch with Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s teenage sensation. In response, Rashford smiled and dropped a revealing answer: “Sure. Everybody in the world wants to play with the best. Hopefully, we’ll see.”

This bold 10-word comment immediately caught fire online and added fuel to ongoing rumors about a summer switch.

“He shouldn’t be doing that at his age”

Rashford didn’t hold back in his praise for Yamal, who at just 17 years old, is already being compared to legends. “It’s difficult to put into words what he’s doing, because you’re not supposed to be doing that at his age. He’s playing at the highest level since 16. This alone is a skill, to have this mentality. It’s not normal to be able to do what he does,” Rashford said.

He even weighed in on the Ballon d’Or debate, comparing Yamal to his more experienced teammate: “If we’re voting for the best player in the world—Lamine Yamal. If we’re voting based on the Champions League winner—Dembele.”

These remarks not only underline Rashford’s admiration for the young Spaniard but also highlight his deep knowledge of Barcelona’s current roster and dynamics.

Hint at life in Spain?

In addition to soccer matters, Rashford was open about his love for Spain, noting its benefits both professionally and personally: “Spain is a beautiful place and not too far from home. If I train here for a long stretch, it’s great because my family can come visit me—it’s only a three-hour flight. Plus, the weather’s good.”

This casual remark might seem harmless but combined with his growing admiration for Yamal and his knowledge of Barça legends like Xavi, Iniesta, and Messi—whom he included in his all-time XI—it only reinforces the belief that Rashford has one eye firmly on Catalonia.
