Charlotte Hornets forward Josh Green underwent surgery to address left shoulder instability and will be sidelined indefinitely. The team announced Green is expected to make a full recovery but provided no timeline for his return.
Green averaged 7.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 27.8 minutes per game during his first season in Charlotte. He appeared in 68 games with 67 starts after joining the Hornets in a trade from the Dallas Mavericks.
Green shot 39.1 percent from three-point range last season, his second-highest career mark. His shooting percentage ranked second among qualified Hornets players during the 2024-25 campaign.
Green was originally selected 18th overall by the Mavericks in the 2020 NBA Draft. He holds career averages of 6.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.8 steals across 291 games over five seasons.
