Manchester United have so far struggled to part ways with Jadon Sancho, with the Englishman returning to Old Trafford despite Chelsea’s obligation to buy him for £25 million.

INEOS must have thought the worst was behind them when they agreed a loan deal with an obligation to buy with the Blues, only for the winger to exasperate Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca with his inconsistent displays.

The Stamford Bridge outfit attempted to agree a new wage package with the England international, but Sancho refused to accept a pay cut, a stand he is still insistent on.

Borussia Dortmund are interested in their former forward but the Red Devils will have to subsidise his wages, a ploy they are reluctant to agree.

United’s dilemma with Jadon Sancho

Should another loan be the only way out, the 20-time English league champions will have to trigger the ex-Manchester City academy graduate’s one-year extension option.

Teamtalk have revealed that United are still trying to sell the forward permanently and given the interest from the Saudi Pro League, they are hoping to earn as much as £30 million from his sale.

“TEAMtalk sources can reveal the transfer fee that Manchester United are looking to recoup for Jadon Sancho this summer as Saudi sides join a quartet of European clubs in the hunt for his signature.

“Man Utd, for their part, are keen to part ways with the English winger this summer and have set a price tag of around £30m to let him go.

“That figure has attracted attention from Saudi clubs, who see Sancho as a valuable opportunity in terms of quality and market appeal.”

High price tag set

Apart from Saudi clubs, not too many will be keen to pay such a fee when they already know how desperate United are to sell the former Dortmund ace, while the player’s wages are also a significant obstacle.

It is heartening to see the co-owners trying to drive a hard bargain during player sales unlike the worthless Glazer regime, but Jadon Sancho might not be the best example to try this strategy on.

It is imperative that they get rid at the earliest and avoid this from turning into a full-blown saga. Reports have suggested that the player is intent on staying in the Premier League.

There is interest from Italy as well but whether anybody will pay the £30 million is doubtful.
