A battle of light heavyweight contenders headlines the upcoming UFC Baku fight card on Sat. (June 21, 2025) in Azerbaijan, as No. 4-ranked Jamahal Hill collides with No. 7-ranked Khalil Rountree Jr., a five round showdown that streams on ABC (main card) and ESPN2 (prelims), as well as the ESPN+ digital network.

“Let’s not disrespect him, but I just don’t see him on my level,” Hill told MMA Junkie. “He can hit you with some big shots, and he’s never going to stop, and never going to quit and give up. There ain’t no back down from him. I haven’t seen anything from anything that makes me think, ‘This dude is on your level.’ Is he dangerous to anybody? It’s a fight.”
In a fight, anybody can land a shot, and that makes them dangerous and can change the fight,” Hill added. “He has my respect in that regard, but to think skill-for-skill he can match with me? I don’t see it that. Right now I’m not thinking about titles. I’m not thinking about rankings. I’m thinking about going in and dominating Kahlil Rountree on Saturday night.”
Hill and Rountree Jr. were previously booked to throw down at UFC Kansas City last April in Missouri; however, Hill suffered an injury and was forced to postpone the bout. That prompted matchmakers to slide the welterweight showdown between Ian Machado Garry and Carlos Prates into the UFC Kansas City headliner, where “The Future” outlasted the Brazilian to preserve his spot in the crowded 170-pound title chase.
