Luke Goedeke makes bold claim about Buccaneers offense under Josh Grizzard

It will be interesting to see how the high-powered Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense will perform after offensive coordinator Liam Coen left the club to become the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars this past winter.

During the Buccaneers’ mandatory minicamp that wrapped up on Thursday, Tampa Bay right tackle Luke Goedeke offered a bold take regarding what could be to come for the club’s offense.

“I feel like the sky is the limit for our O-line and our offense as a whole,” Goedeke said recently, Buccaneers reporter Brianna Dix shared. “I’d like to see our offense as the best O-line and best offense in the National Football League. That’s the goal among every team, but I would say we’re definitely a team [where] that’s definitely achievable. Everyone strives for that and that’s great and everything, but I think the Bucs, here, as we stand today, they’re in a good spot to achieve that this year.”

The Buccaneers promoted Josh Grizzard from pass game coordinator to offensive coordinator following Coen’s departure, and the club also held onto the core of its offense when wide receiver Chris Godwin left some money on the table to stay with the organization. According to ESPN stats, Tampa Bay finished the 2024 regular season ranked third in the league with an average of 399.5 offensive yards gained per contest and fourth with an average of 29.5 points scored per game.

During the draft, the Buccaneers added wide receivers Emeka Egbuka and Tez Johnson to a roster filled with talented targets such as Godwin, Sterling Shepard and superstar Mike Evans.

“I know I say it a lot, but this might be the best receiving room I’ve been a part of,” Evans said on Thursday.

Per Pro Football Reference, the offensive line that protected Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield last season helped him finish the campaign ranked third in the NFL with 4,500 passing yards, fourth with a 106.8 passer rating and tied for second with 41 touchdowns through the air. That same line is now one reason some view the 2025 Buccaneers as a sleeper Super Bowl contender.

As of Friday afternoon, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Buccaneers seventh among the betting favorites at +1300 odds to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LX. If Goedeke ends up being right about the Tampa Bay offense, such forecasts could look disrespectful by the time January 2026 rolls around.
