In an attempt to help his people, Oleksandr Usyk is hoping to persuade Donald Trump to visit Ukraine amid their ongoing feud with Russia.

The two warring nations are still colliding, over two years on from when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022. The war has seen countless innocent people die on both sides, and many are pleading for the senseless killings to stop.

One man fed up with the war is world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk. In an effort to bring peace to his nation, Usyk used his platform to ask United States President Donald Trump to aid his people.

During an interview with CNN Sports, Usyk called for Trump’s help.

“Hello, [President] Donald Trump, please open [your] eyes,” an emotional Usyk said. “Help my people.”

A vow was made by Trump regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, and Usyk believes he should fulfill his promise to the Ukrainian people.

“He should be responsible for the words he said. He said that in a month or a day, he would stop this war.”

Desperate to find a resolution to the ongoing battle between the two rivaling nations, Usyk invited Trump to spend some time in Ukraine.

“I offer him my home. Let him come to Ukraine. I will give him my home and my security guards. I will ensure his complete safety.”

“Let him live in my house for a week and see how rockets fly over it and how people live in Ukraine.”

“Let him live somewhere in the Kyiv districts of Obolon or Troyeshchyna, where houses, residential buildings are being bombed. And then he will understand what is happening.”

Donald Trump has publicly spoken about the war, insisting that he hopes a deal can be struck imminently to resolve their issues.

Check out Oleksandr Usyk’s plea to Donald Trump as he hopes to ensure the safety of his Ukrainian people in the video below.
