Welcome to Casual Friday! This is the community water-cooler spot where we venture away from Seattle Seahawks talk for much less contentious topics.
For whatever reason this has been one of our most popular off-topic open threads over the years, so I’m going to recycle what works. Music! I personally can’t get enough of music and I need it in my ears and running through my veins. My musical tastes have a strong preference for the 1980s-1990s (and a sprinkling of the early 2000s), but I’d describe my playlist as eclectic. I’ll also defend to the death the Yacht Rock genre and the term itself.
Here’s a sampling of my playlist:
Don’t Pay The Ferryman – Chris de Burgh
Bus Stop – The Hollies
Say It Right – Nelly Furtado
I Don’t Want You Anymore – Bill Champlin
Training Season (live version) – Dua Lipa
As Long As It Matters – Gin Blossoms
How Does It Make You Feel – Victoria Monet
Don’t Say Goodbye – Walter Beasley
The Glass – H.E.R.
I’m Done – Hil St. Soul
I Will Remember – Toto
Tennessee – Arrested Development
Long, Long Way From Home – Foreigner
Broken Hearted Melody – Sarah Vaughan
The King Is Dead – Go West
Is It You – Lee Ritenour
I Don’t Mind At All – Bourgeois Tagg
Because The Night – Patti Smith Group
On The Turning Away – Pink Floyd
A Word in Spanish – Elton John
Your Wildest Dreams – The Moody Blues
The Eyes of a New York Woman – B.J. Thomas
Bring It On Home to Me – Sam Cooke
No One Can Love You More – Phyllis Hyman
Made For Me – Muni Long
Fantasy – Earth, Wind, and Fire
You Give Me Something – James Morrison
It’s a Laugh – Hall and Oates
Yah Mo B There – James Ingram and Michael McDonald
Your turn! I always love reading these because it shows our varied musical favorites.
