Liverpool are open to the possibility of selling long-serving defender Joe Gomez during the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Empire of the Kop.
The 28-year-old, who joined the Reds from Charlton Athletic in 2015, has been a stalwart presence at Anfield, contributing significantly to the club’s recent successes.
The defender has won two Premier League titles and a Champions League medal during his time at Anfield.
However, with limited playing time in the 2024–25 season, making only 17 appearances totaling 874 minutes, both the club and the player may be considering a change.
Sources close to Empire of the Kop indicate that Liverpool’s ownership group, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), have set an asking price of approximately €30 million (£25.3 million) for Gomez.

This valuation has attracted interest from at least eight Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Everton, West Ham United, Bournemouth, and newly promoted sides Leeds United, Burnley, and Sunderland.
Gomez is an experienced defender who is being monitored by several Premier League clubs ahead of the transfer window.
Gomez’s versatility, capable of playing both as a centre-back and full-back, has been a valuable asset for Liverpool over the years.
While the defender has not been a regular starter at Anfield, he has always chipped in with his contribution for the club whenever a centre-back or full-back has been injured.
He has been the ideal squad player for the club during his time in Merseyside and with his departure now looking inevitable, the Reds would need to replace his quality in their defensive setup.

The defender would have certainly liked to play more during his time at Liverpool but injury issues and better quality players in the squad made it difficult for him to become a regular starter.
Along with Gomez, Caoimhin Kelleher is also on his way out of Anfield this summer with a transfer to Brentford agreed.
