Ruben Amorim ridiculized Alejandro Garnacho in front of Manchester United teammates for 3-word message

The brutal message Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim reportedly delivered to Alejandro Garnacho has now been revealed—strongly suggesting the Argentine winger has played his final game for the club.

Garnacho came off the bench in United’s 1-0 Europa League final loss to Tottenham last Wednesday, playing under 20 minutes as the Red Devils tried to find an equalizer. Frustrated by being left out of the starting XI, the 20-year-old voiced his dissatisfaction in the post-match mixed zone, saying he would “try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Garnacho’s brother Roberto took to social media to slam Amorim’s decision to bench him, accusing the Portuguese coach of “throwing him under the bus.” The situation escalated quickly. Garnacho was not included in the squad for United’s season finale against Aston Villa, and reports emerged a day earlier that Amorim had bluntly told him to find a new club.

According to the Daily Mail, Amorim delivered the message publicly in front of the entire team at Carrington. During a team meeting last Saturday, the former Sporting CP boss is said to have told Garnacho, “You better pray that you can find a club to sign you,” effectively ending his future with Manchester United on the spot.

Despite the drama, Garnacho still traveled with the squad for their post-season tour in Malaysia and Hong Kong. However, it appears highly unlikely he will return for pre-season training in July.

Asked about Garnacho’s status following United’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa, Amorim responded tersely: “He is a Manchester United player that is not in the squad today, but he continues to be a Manchester United player.”

Garnacho’s future in doubt after brutal dressing-down by Amorim

Meanwhile, clubs like Chelsea and Napoli—both long-time admirers of Garnacho—are reportedly monitoring his situation closely. Interest in the Argentine had already surfaced during the January transfer window.

Manchester United are believed to value Garnacho at around £60 million, and given his homegrown status, a sale would represent pure profit on the financial books. Garnacho made his senior debut in 2022 against Chelsea and has since racked up 144 appearances, scoring 26 goals and winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup during his time at Old Trafford.
