Shai Gilgeous-Alexander became the third OKC Thunder player in NBA history to be crowned league MVP, behind two legends of the game.

The OKC Thunder have had three MVP winners in the last 11 years – Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and now Shai, and it isn’t something he’s taking he’s for granted.

“It’s amazing. Any conversation when it’s particularly those two guys, but guys who get this award, is hard to even wrap your head around. Those guys have done amazing things with the game, changed the game in ways you couldn’t see coming. To even be in the same breath, like I said, it’s hard to even put into words,” Gilgeous-Alexander said. “I can’t chalk it up to anything else besides just like a kid dreaming and working at it and seeing where it takes you. That’s the biggest thing. I know Kevin and I know Russell. I know the kids they were, and they just dreamed and worked hard and got to this position, and so did I.”

Following his MVP win, he got even more popular with his OKC teammate after presenting them with a gift basket each owrth over $10,000 dollars.

The basket contained:

-Rolex watch-iPhones-Beats By Dre headphones-Custom ‘Canada Goose’ jackets

MVP in more ways than one.

He led the Thunder to a league-high 68 wins this NBA season, led the league with 32.7 points per game on 51.9 percent shooting from the floor and also averaged 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks.

SGA was presented with his MVP trophy before Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the Timberwolves.

In Game 2, he was again the difference-maker for the Thunder, scoring 38 points, three rebounds, eight assists, three steals in the 118-103 win.
