The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the revised schedule for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which will resume on May 17 and conclude with the final on June 3.
The tournament had been suspended on May 9 due to escalating cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan. After a week-long pause, the league is set to return with 17 matches, including 13 league games and four playoff fixtures.
The remaining matches will be hosted across six venues: Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. Notably, Jaipur will serve as the temporary home ground for Punjab Kings (PBKS) for the rest of the season.
Playoff Dates Announced
While the specific venues for the playoffs are yet to be revealed, the BCCI has confirmed the following dates:
Qualifier 1: May 29
Eliminator: May 30
Qualifier 2: June 1
Final: June 3
Two Double-Headers on Sundays
The revised calendar includes two double-headers, both scheduled on Sundays, allowing fans to enjoy extended weekend action as the tournament races toward its conclusion.
PBKS vs DC to Be Replayed
In a significant development, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, which was called off midway on May 8 in Dharamsala, will now be replayed on May 24 in Jaipur. The game had been interrupted during the first innings and will now take place afresh as part of the updated schedule.
