“The Problem Child” Jake Paul returns to the ring on June 28 taking on former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.

“I’m ready to beat Jake Paul,” Chavez Jr. told The Schmo. “He’s scared. He’s so nervous. I see it in his eyes. I’m ready to put him down.”

Paul (11-1) has successfully transformed for a social media influencer to one of the biggest draws in boxing. Building his boxing career largely by beating former UFC fighters, Paul is no longer a gimmick. But Chavez Jr. will be the most accomplished boxer Paul has faced.

Chavez Jr. was asked to rate Paul’s boxing ability on a scale of 1 to 10. Last year, he gave Paul a rating of six. He hasn’t changed his opinion. He still rates Paul’s boxing as being the middle of the road.

“You’ve got A (level fighters), B and C. He’s like a little more than C, close to the B. I’m in the A,” he said.

Paul wants to become a boxing world champion but Chavez Jr. doesn’t think that’s ever going to actually happen.

“Never happen,” Chavez Jr. said. “I’m training. I’m ready, and I’ll beat him on June 28. ”
