Giannis Antetokounmpo has revealed his all-time NBA starting five, but the only thing it has done is add fuel to the trade rumors. The two-time MVP is expected to wear a different uniform after another playoff heartbreak with the Milwaukee Bucks, and his latest social media posts hint at a potential move to the Golden State Warriors.
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s All-Time NBA Starting 5 Five Sparks Trade Rumors
Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks entered the 2025 postseason with a 48-34 record, filled with hopes of another championship run.
Despite a rocky regular season, the Bucks believed they had enough firepower, especially with Antetokounmpo putting up MVP-caliber numbers. But those dreams quickly crumbled. The Indiana Pacers steamrolled Milwaukee in a shocking first-round upset, taking the series (4-1).
Even Antetokounmpo’s dominant postseason average of 33 points per game couldn’t save the team from an early exit. With the season abruptly ending and frustration mounting, trade rumors have taken over headlines, and the rumored destination at the moment is Golden State.
Antetokounmpo further fueled the rumors when he pushed Stephen Curry into his all-time starting five alongside LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant. The “Greek Freak” also named Curry one of the greatest shooters in history and the best point guard to play the game alongside Magic Johnson and Isaiah Thomas.

The Ringer’s Logan Murdock also reported on May 17 that Antetokounmpo was “very intrigued by the idea of one day being a teammate of Steph Curry.”
The idea of Antetokounmpo, Curry, Butler, and Draymond Green getting together in Northern California is a mouthwatering prospect for the Warriors fans. However, Curry wasn’t the only person he praised in his posts.
In addition to naming Durant in his all-time starting eleven, Antetokounmpo revealed he admired the four-time NBA Champion growing up. While Durant is also expected to be on the move this offseason, the idea of him and Antetokounmpo pairing up seems unlikely, given that very few teams can afford both at the same time.

With Durant reportedly having blocked a trade to the Warriors last season, Golden State is a serious contender for Antetokounmpo. Their recent playoff run exposed glaring weaknesses – size and scoring. The 6’11” Antetokounmpo would not only anchor their paint defense but also offer a much-needed scoring partner for Curry.

The Warriors lacked answers when Curry went down with a hamstring injury during their second-round exit. Antetokounmpo could change that in an instant, but whether Golden State can put together a suitable trade package capable of enticing the Bucks remains to be seen.
