“Remember the name” has reacted to his title loss.
Belal Muhammad lost his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight title to Jack Della Maddalena in a thrilling UFC 315 main event last night (Sat., May 10, 2025) from inside Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (watch highlights).
Late last night, Muhammad took to social media to share a heartfelt statement.
“Allahs plan is the best plan Alhamdillah for everything,” Muhammad wrote. “Thank you to all my supporters. I been here before and I’ll be back.”

A more comprehensive statement is expected later this week as Muhammad reflects on the defeat.
Muhammad (15-4-1) saw his impressive 10-fight win streak halted. Before UFC 315, “Remember the Name” had been unbeaten for over six years, with Geoff Neal as his last conqueror in 2019.
At 36, turning 37 in two months, and lacking the widespread popularity of flashier fighters, Muhammad faces a daunting climb back to the Welterweight throne. His technical style, while effective, has not always resonated with fans or UFC brass, making his path to another title shot extremely difficult.
And he’s definitely not getting an immediate rematch.
If former champion Kamaru Usman overcomes rising contender Joaquin Buckley next month, the existing bad blood between Usman and Muhammad could spark a high-stakes grudge match.
