What can we expect from Dolphins rookies – Miami Dolphins News 5/12/25

The Miami Dolphins ended day two of their 2025 rookie minicamp with a roster move on Saturday, waiving long snapper Kneeland Hibbett. The move marks the third-straight day of long snapper moves for the team, following Thursday’s release of Blake Ferguson and Friday’s signing of Joe Cardona.

Hibbett joined the team as an undrafted free agent this year, signing after last month’s 2025 NFL Draft. He played four years at Alabama.

Cardona, entering his 10th year in the league, was a surprise release by the New England Patriots a few days after the Draft. The Dolphins’ addition of their former AFC East rival set the stage for Hibbett’s departure and seems to indicate the team is locked into Cardona handling the role this year.

Ferguson had spent five years with the team, but missed the second half of 2024 after being placed on the non-football illness list with an undisclosed issue.

It seems the Dolphins initially signed Hibbett as an insurance policy for Ferguson, but with the addition of Cardona, both players saws their roster spots disappear.

Miami concludes their three-day rookie minicamp on Sunday.
