Manchester United’s goalkeeping department is expected to be revamped with the futures of all three shot-stoppers up in the air heading into the summer window.

Andre Onana’s performances have been dismal recently, and Ruben Amorim would ideally prefer to change his No. 1 if funds can be freed up.

Altay Bayindir is expected to depart as he eyes increased minutes in order to clinch his place in the Turkiye national team. A return to his homeland is on the cards.

Tom Heaton’s contract is up at the end of the season and there are talks of being absorbed into the coaching staff while a contract renewal is also on the cards.

Goalkeeping revamp?

Naturally a lot of goalies have been linked with a move to Old Trafford including former Carrington starlet Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.

As relayed by The Peoples Person, noisy neighbours Manchester City are also eyeing the Serbian who has impressed for Torino this season.

In 35 games, he has kept 11 clean sheets as Torino are currently 10th in the Serie A standings. And as per Tutto Mercato Web, United, City and Chelsea are expected to try and acquire his signature in the summer.

Urbano Cairo, president of Torino, has spoken out on the whole saga. “He had a great championship and it is normal that he receives a lot of attention, but no offer has arrived yet.”

The Serbian international was also asked about his future, to which he replied, “I have learned that setting goals is not a positive thing, it is better to do things with the lights off.

“Then in all teams there are replacements of players who are sold and bought, the important thing is to find the right players to strengthen the team.”

Milinkovic-Savic on the move

The 6ft 8in goalkeeper’s contract with Torino is valid until the summer of 2026, with the Serie A outfit having the option of extending it by a year.

Milinkovic-Savic’s contract reportedly includes a release clause worth €20 million but he has a market value of €12 million, a fee which could suit United given their need to strengthen elsewhere.

Ardent United fans will remember the Serbian, who had joined the Red Devils when he was only 17 but failed to earn a senior cap with David de Gea standing tall between the sticks at that point in time.

Eventually, two years after moving to Old Trafford, the goalkeeper departed for Lechia Gdansk in 2016 after work permit issues.
